A coluna modelo 2X para o iPod e iPhone é feita em madeira trabalhada à mão, dispõe de uma amplificação digital com altifalantes Full Range (2 a 15W), dock station integrada, uma entrada de linha auxiliar, uma saída para auscultadores e ainda controlo remoto. É compatível para funcionar e carregar diversos modelos da linha de iPods da Apple, como o iPod Video, iPod Nano, iPod mini, iPod, iPod classic, iPod touch e ainda o iPhone.

" As the number of iPod speaker systems on the market increases, seemingly exponentially, some companies have attempted to stand out from the crowd by focusing on design and materials. Vers Audio is one such company, and the Vers 2x , its first offering, successfully employs such an approach.

Unlike most iPod speaker systems, which feature a body made of plastic, metal, or some combination of the two, the Vers 2x’s exterior cabinet is constructed entirely of attractive, cherry-finish wood. More specifically, the company says it uses “hand-crafted, hand-finished, furniture grade cherry veneer” over a wood frame. However you describe it, the smooth-cornered Vers 2x is certainly among the most attractive systems I’ve seek, looking much like the luxury “table radios” that have become popular over the past few years. And the cabinet, 11.2 inches wide-by-6.1 inches deep-by-5.7 inches high, feels exceptionally solid. (At 6.5 pounds, the Vers 2x is also heavier than it appears, presumably because of the real wood.)

But it’s not just the wood cabinet that makes the 2x unique; it’s also the production process, which Vers claims strives to be environmentally-conscious at every step. For example, the system’s cabinet wood is harvested from “sustainable-managed plantation sources” via a process that uses every bit of each tree. Vers also uses screws instead of adhesives and plastic snaps, which is both better for the environment and makes the system easier to take apart and recycle at the end of its lifetime.

All packaging, including the protective trays inside, is made from 100-percent recycled paper products that are, in turn, completely re-recyclable, and the company doesn’t use plastic or wire cable ties. Finally, the 2x’s amplifier is a Class-D switching model, which uses less energy than other types of amps, especially when the system is powered down. The 2x is also fully RoHS-compliant. As someone who sees far too much waste—plastic or other—each day while reviewing products, I applaud Vers Audio for this approach."

"New iPod box from Vers sits well with wood
Vers (versaudio.com) is handcrafted from sustainable plantation sources, and contains energy-efficient electronics. But you can drive yourself crazy calculating the greenhouse footprint of any gadget, or the environmental damage that occurs in its manufacture.
I am more interested in how well something works. And I was sold on Vers the moment I connected it to my iPod. My tunes sounded as full and rich as they did coming out of Chestnut Hill Sound's George, Mondo's Mint, or the Zvox Mini, all of which I've covered here.
My wife, Lisa, appreciates Vers's looks. The natural woodgrain finish blended well with the original woodwork and the pine wood bookcase in our Milton home. The box is about a foot long, 5 1/2 inches wide, and 5 1/2 inches deep.
Vers comes with the cookie-cutter adapters you will need to seat your particular iPod on the top of the box. The Vers also comes with a 14-function IR remote control, which is practically useless. Since the remote has no display, you must be close enough to the cabinet and your iPod (or other connected music source) to see what you are doing anyway."
